Standing on the Shore of a Moment in Time

the sea and me for thee
standing on the shore of a moment in time
K.L. 2012

I can say it a thousand times and it still would not be enough.

The ocean, majestically magnificent,

never feels less than home to me.

I can arrive with the weight of the world on my mind,

crushed beneath the burdens of my own design,

and just like that, the sounds, the breeze, the birds at play,

snatch my cares away from me,

as if to say:

Why would you bring these troubles, these illusions here?

Have we not said to you since the beginning of time,

Here they do not exist?

nothing you can do will make it so

I release the worry, the stress, the fears then,

knowing, as I have a million times before,

they do not truly exist,

And the ocean reads my mind and sighs,

As once more I stand on the shore

of a moment in time.
