The opportunity for this shot presented itself to me while on a vacation in one of my favorite spots in the world (so far!), Vancouver, British Columbia. I say it all the time, I know- but it bears repeating; you put me next to water whether it’s an ocean, a sea, river, stream, or a harbor in Vancouver and I’ll be a happy camper.
What is it about water scenes that excites and brings me such a sense of peace? I was born near water, I’m sure that helps. I was also born during a hurricane… so, in my mind, this fact alone means I will always be able to express my best when water is involved in some way, shape, or form…
shape and form- things water never has until we ‘create’ them? Just saying, is all!
The best thing for me concerning this picture is that I didn’t have to concern myself with taking the shot right away. All of the key components in this photo’s construction ‘stood still’ for me and waited until I was ready. Nice of them, right?
Action photos, ones concerning people doing what people do, are nice given the right settings, but there will always be a soft spot in my heart for scenes such as this one.
Tranquil, serene, peaceful, and harmonious. Yeah, I’ll take two to go!
