Morning Photography: Experimenting With Graphics Before the Muses

Another early morning ride. This one bought me before statues of classic Muses…,

Once more through San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts on a morning ride. I actually bought along the camera to take advantage of pretty decent morning weather. Any bike ride stop is a good excuse to do a little stretching, especially if you rush out to the road without doing any!

Arriving at my destination, I remember why I like the Palace of Fine Arts’ architecture so much. Classical temples and statues abound and with the clouds still asleep, the light vs shadows is astounding.

This photo, and it did begin its life as a color photo, quickly got me thinking GRAPHICS in no time. Before the graphics treatment though, I did a little ‘texturing’ via a few new tools in my software arsenal. It’s a first as far as experiments go, but I like it. I get to pretend for a few seconds I’ve been turned into a statue like the lovely ladies on the pillar above me.
