Creative Comparisons: Making Old Works New Again

A simple idea, borrowed from my last post that dealt with discovering old works and bringing them (back) to light and life. This post slants that concept a little by taking three images I’ve used in previous posts and other works and doing a rework on all three just for the comparison factor.

The three originals come first:

the original is minus pixels!

A Bee finds his flower

working with ways to show the beautiful colors of this parrot 'creatively'!

mirrored image, silhouette, dark, shadows

springtime, bees pollenate flowers, living nature

the colors of a parrot, colors in nature

The changes to these three pieces were never intended to be extreme. I wanted to experiment with old pieces; in this case, pieces I first used when I began this blog. One of the things I like seeing as time goes on is the tools available to create photo and graphic work are constantly changing. Sometimes it’s subtle; a new filter that offers minor color change. Sometimes the tools are major and allow for radical reinventions; double or triple exposure methods that also allow for manipulation of other elements of the work.

Take a look at some of your earlier works. Do you feel like they ‘stand the test of time’, or could you breathe new life into them with some subtle or radical re-imagining?

…the possibilities are meant to be endless in my humble obzervashun!
