KLDesignz Feature of the Day: In Search of The Solo Flight

the discovery of self, journey of exploration

Oftentimes, a Solo Flight is the only flight -K’lee L.

Once more into the archives I go! I didn’t venture too far back for this, but the feeling I had during and after its creation has yet to leave me. The notion of a ‘solo flight’, perhaps the strongest life marker of our shift(s) to independence or self-discovery? Those are a few of the ideas which came to my mind while working on this piece, taken at the ocean one beautifully clouded sunset.

Solo Flights- I recall several of my own throughout the years. The ones coming to mind as I write this were challenging, required me to make some major sacrifices, and to change some long held notions about who I was and what I could do. (vague, yes, but sometimes vague is what you want!)

I know I’m not the only one of us who has had to make such journeys. We all do at some point in our personal evolution. My belief is those who do; embracing the journey wholeheartedly, tend to come away with some gift or deeper understanding in the end.

As with the previous post, ‘Solo Flight’ can also be found on my ‘Z’ spot. There’s a collection of items you can check out Solo Flight

    1. Much appreciated, Jet!!! Your comment is a great boost, believe me. The colors are ‘slightly elevated’ shall we say, but I remember this dawn clearly. There must have been twenty to thirty of us standing silently just watching this breathtaking phenomena unfold before us. It was one of those rare times my camera seemed like an imposition!

        1. I’m telling you! I finally got over to Treasure Island for the first time at night. I froze, but the view is spectacular. I’ve got to check out more of the East Bay with the camera before the torrential El Nino gets here!

          1. If only you could see what happens to my brain courtesy of a photo like this! Did you get here driving? That could be problematic for me. This is stunning, Laura. I consider this my new photo challenge! Thank you.
