Nature Photography: The Coming of Spring

A day in bed battling a bug tends to make me all the more appreciative of feeling better the following morning; so much so I decided, why not grab the camera and head out into nature? With winter loosening its (rainy!) grip, one of the best places for me to experience a sunny morning is San Francisco’s Botanical Garden.  Spring’s not here yet, but the evidence is building of its impending arrival!

The above picture/graphic was taken in the botanical garden. I decided, once home, to give it a bit of a graphic re-texturing. Not sure what I was going for, but still I like the result.

    1. Thanks Kim for the well wishes! I’m going to put this out there just, well just because, but you CAN hit the link at the bottom of the post and check out the available options at my FAA site? No need to cover your home with my work, but maybe, maybe you’ll come across something there worth hanging to help with the ‘California Living’ concept? (big smile!)

      1. I was just there looking at your art. They’re all so beautiful K’lee! I think my favorites are the cherry blossoms, this one, Winter’s Tale, and Autumn Bloom Under Glass. There was another one of waves on a beach I loved too. Sigh. Anyway, my husband is working on creating my dream “Book Nook” for me. A corner just for me with some bookshelves, and a comfy chair where I can read, write, blog, and listen to music. I’m going to try to save up some money to buy one of your canvas or framed prints. It’s tough because both of us are disabled so money is tight, but this would so be worth it. I could look at it, marvel at it’s beauty, and think “my friend K’lee did this!

        1. Thank you so much for you continued support, Kim. Let me say this: Making a sale is not my number one priority. That might seem a strange comment for someone running several stores! Do I want to make sales? Yes. All of us with shops or galleries or what have you do. I would just prefer someone contact me privately if need be if the desire to buy is there but the cashflow isn’t. Something can always be worked out is my take. I can be just as pleased by your comments as I can with a sale. Some artist have trouble with people simply downloading/printing their work or using it without permission. I can understand not having cashflow, but ‘borrowing’ or otherwise acquiring just isn’t cool and it’s illegal to boot. The bottom line for me is I’m willing to look at alternate ways of getting my work to people when money’s an issue. There is no rush whatsoever. Your comments are my first source of gold… always will be.

          1. Sorry I just read your reply, Kim. Please, I was in NO WAY suggesting something about you. I’m not sure what you refer to when you say you were kidding, but believe me you are not obligated to purchase anything from my sites. Your continued support and amazing kindness are treasure enough!

    1. Thanks, Laura! Yes, I got knocked on my butt for a minute. Funny, I immediately told myself I needed to be up and running. Luckily a change of mind didn’t take long. Got out this morning feeling better and was rewarded with fantastic light and some pretty awesome magnolias on the bloom. Hope all is well with you!
