K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge: Show Us Your Winter’s Light

Hello and welcome to another… MONDAY. Here’s hoping it’s welcoming to you all. I do know of a way to make it a little more interesting…

The K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge!

better, right?

This week I had the duty of bringing you the weekly challenge, which I offered up this past Friday. The new prompt was labeled:

Show Us Your Winter’s Light

Stark, sharp winter’s light strikes San Francisco’s iconic Cliff House at Ocean Beach

Now I gave this one lots of thought and, as I have in the past, I had several single images I initially thought were perfect for the challenge… until I stopped thinking they were perfect for the challenge.

San Francisco's Ocean Beach, ocean photography, dawn photography
Stormy seas, winter’s light, and clashing rocks at San Francisco’s Ocean Beach.

Starting over from scratch, I decided to compose and create yet another slideshow of images (three because I like the number) I felt showed off Winter’s Light in ways that reinforced the notions of both winter and light in my creative mind.

So, without further ado, here’s the slideshow I created for today’s challenge:

One of several statues of a Californian Missionary situated near the Academy of Science in Golden Gate Park. Stormy and slightly color saturated waves and rocks at San Francisco’s Ocean Beach, and lastly a stark black and white dawn show of the iconic Cliff House, also located at San Francisco’s Ocean Beach.

You know it’s not hard joining in on these challenges. Here’s what you’d need to do:

Create your post as you normally would. Try giving it a title similar to what you see above or on my buddy Dale’s site today pertaining to the challenge. Create a ‘pingback’ by copying the URL of your challenge post and pasting it into the comment sectio of either this post or Dale’s Monday post. Lastly, add our tag #CosPhoChal to your list of tags and your set!

Have a great Monday and a great week!

        1. Wow. Sorry to hear it. I’m like you, love the ocean, but that respect is ever present. I was down there by Sutro one morning when the waves must have been ten to fifteen feet. Me, wanting that perfect shot, stood on the shore snapping away until I realized the size of the wave coming in! Needless to say, that was a wrap! Whenever I look at those pics… I remember…

          1. The ocean does not play, right? Man I can’t believe I used to climb that mountain behind the tunnel there at Sutton baths. I actually made it up. I also saw a bobcat that day too. Yea there’s crazy wildlife right there.

          2. I know, right? I saw a dude on the news a few days back got stranded climbing up from near China Beach. He stayed stuck in that cold ass air for hours screaming until a woman heard him and called the police. He got hauled up on cables unhurt, but with news cameras on him, you know he was embarrassed as all get out!
