I began my Sunday remembering something the brilliant spiritual teacher/philosopher Eckhart Tolle said in a speech I’d heard two days prior: (basically we humans tend to allow conditions-such as weather- to direct our moods and hence how we will ultimately feel at any given time.)
I mention the above because the weather here in San Francisco Sunday morning was… um, cloudy, kind of cold, and miserable, BUT I found myself heading to a San Francisco event I’d not been to in years; CARNIVAL, so I was willing to trust the weather a little.
I learned from the event’s MC that Carnival came to life in San Francisco way back in 1979. A little before my time, but I’ve had the pleasure of attending about three total Carnivals so far, and this one… this one was amazing.
This post comes a little late in the day for one reason in particular: I shot over one thousand photos. Trying to sort through all that to find the ones I wanted for the post was not only a big deal, but a big job and I wanted to get it right.
Well, those of you in the know realize Mondays (the day after Sunday in most places) here on Obzervashunal and at my buddy Dale’s site diary of an internet nobody are dedicated to our ‘K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.
This week, Dale’s had the helm and the prompt he gave us this past Friday was:
I can honestly say, as I headed to the Carnival celebration, I knew I wanted to speak to the movement prompt with shots taken on Sunday and so, without making you wait any longer, here’s a taste of the thousand or so photos I took yesterday. Let me also say by noon yesterday… the sun came out and just made it amazing:
I saw lots of it at the Carnival celebration. It was spectacular. No one I noticed was all that down because of the early cold, cloudy weather. It didn’t matter and once the sun parted the clouds, it really didn’t matter…
Happy Memorial Day to those of you who find this post in the U.S., and a great Monday to everyone else!
