Silently On Saturday: Through the Rushes an Egret Flies

Silently on Saturday… a silent photographic meditation…

 

It’s Saturday here on OBZERVASHUNAL, which can only mean one thing. It’s time for another posting in my ongoing, ‘Silently on Saturday‘ series.

For this week’s photo, I chose a motion-based work, taken not too long ago by the Chinese Pavilion in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.

Getting a sharp picture of a flying bird moving, as it were, through a bank of tall grasses and trees is just about impossible. Knowing I was asking a lot from my camera, I decided at the last minute to simply take a series of tracking shots; each one representing a different angle of this beautiful Great Blue Heron‘s flight back to it’s nest.

The following is what I came up with:
