K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge: What’s the Prompt?

prompts, challenges, photography, creativity
where photos become their own COSMIC entity!

It’s November.

I’m sure you’re aware of this fact, but I mention it because I realize, as I prepare this post, we, my buddy Dale and I, may have missed a chance to offer a challenge based on concepts, ideas, and yes-photography dealing with HALLOWEEN.

It’s November.

Halloween has passed us by (for those of us living in places that experience/celebrate it. What I’m thinking though, is there’s little reason NOT to still offer up a challenge in our ongoing, K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, where we turn down the lights, put on the masks, step out into the night and…

San Francisco Sutro Heights, black and white photography, shadows, silhouettes, cyprus trees

…take a photo or two of something(s) that scares us, or haunts us, or at the least- resides in our thoughts with power enough to produce a chill or quick glance over the shoulder?

With all that in mind, I decided to name this challenge:

THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT

You know- because it’s November…

…and Halloween, well, you get the meaning, I’m sure.

As always, if you decide to take on this spooky, creepy, ghostly, ghastly challenge, Dale and I leave the door wide open for you to define it in any way you like, because that’s how we do it.

You also get the rest of today (Friday) and the entire weekend to work it out in time for the unveiling on Monday.

Now, if you’ve never participated in one of our challenges, trust us, it’s not a hard thing to do, and here’s the proof and the means of getting it done:

Create your post as you normally do. THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT is your theme and can be your working title, but not necessarily. The door’s open on you being your kind of creative there too.

Golden Gate Park trees, San Francisco trees

Once done, you can copy your post’s URL and paste it into the comment section of my Monday challenge post or Dale’s Monday post (find his linked above). This creates what’s called a ‘pingback’, letting others see your amazingly scary work!

When choosing your tags, be sure to use our #CosPhoChal tag. It’s one more way to help others see your work.

Here’s to a THRILLER of a weekend to you all!

  1. Hi K’lee. I see you found my post for the challenge. I also posted on Dale’s site since other bloggers have their entries there. For future reference, do I provide two separate links for my followers if they wish to join in. I’m confused a bit. 🙂

    1. Sorry about the confusion! You can link both, but that’s extra work I don’t see as necessary. I’ll look at returning to something I use to do, which is give a list of all the entries who joined in as an update on my post and possibly Dale’s. That way double linkage won’t be necessary… hopefully!

      1. Sounds good. When I saw the postings on his site I thought…well who will see mine on your site that had no postings. All the other challenges I participate in, you can view and comment on all the other participants.
