How do you define the word textures?
For me, I guess it all comes down to the sense of touch. I mean, if I were blindfolded and allowed to touch a variety of textures, I’m pretty sure I could tell differences (most major ones and a good number of minor ones) between them.
I open this Monday post with ideas related to textures because it happens to be the latest prompt, offered up this past Friday by yours truly, for the ongoing K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.
The prompt was and still is:
TEXTURES x THREE
All this prompt means is if you decide to take on my buddy Dale’s and my challenge, you’ll need to come up with three distinctly individual textures which, let it be said, can literally be ANYTHING!
Yes. You heard (read) that right. You can and should choose three textures from any source you like. It could be wood, silk, plastic, anything.
What did I come up with, you ask?
Well, I kept it kinda simple. I went with a couple… I mean a threesome of my favorite ‘textured’ shots and they look a little something like this:
Petals of a flower,
Metals from San Francisco’s main library’s futuristic artwork,
And, rounded out the three, the wooden textures of a number of my musical instruments!
Looking around me as I write this, I realize it would have been easy to add fifty other textures to this post, BUT I myself did limit the challenge to three and so I stop with three.
How about you?
If you were considering joining in on our challenge this week, know it’s not so hard to do.
Here’s what it takes:
Create your post as you normally would. Let TEXTURES be a part of your title. Once completed, you can copy your post’s URL and paste it into the comment section of this post or the challenge post you’ll find at Dale’s site (linked above).
Finish it all off by using our #CosPhoChal tag and hey, you’re done!
Have a great Monday!
