Hey Everyone. Welcome to a somewhat LATE in the day sort of Monday. I don’t know about you, but in my experience, some Mondays flow right up out of the weekend and fulfill their purpose… um, whatever that purpose should happen to be.
Other Mondays, such as the one I’m currently passing through, arrive on the ‘bumpy express’, as in getting here was merely okay instead of fun… if you know what I mean!
Irregardless, it is Monday here at Obzervashunal, which can only mean one thing: another in the ongoing virtual saga otherwise known as, K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.
Now, when we left off this past Friday, I had provided you with our latest prompt for today’s challenge unveiling:
COPPER, SILVER, AND GOLD
I’ll admit, as I generally do, I didn’t at the time have my mind set on any one definition of this prompt. I knew I wanted to take a little weekend time to figure out what I would do, and I did!
Here’s my take:
My version of copper, as in copper-esque light falling across the evening sky above San Francisco’s preeminent baseball stadium. Hey! I can even say I’ve been here with a bunch of friends to watch a game!
I didn’t have to dig far through the archives for a ‘bit ‘o silver’ as this mask and the fifteen or so others which formed this Bolivian contingent in last year’s Carnival celebration, amazes me every time I view it. I’ll have to get back to you with the deeper meaning behind these masks. Just know this particular representative really put on a show for the cameras!
For the GOLD portion of this challenge, I went with light:
There are all types of ‘golden light‘ moments for those willing to get up nice and early. I’d also imagine this to be true in locales all over the planet and at different times of the year.
I went with this bit of golden light (refracted through a glass pane effect!) occurring at Oakland, California’s Lake Merritt, because it represents one of if not the first time I experienced it here.
I’d have to say, it’s not just the quality and uniqueness of the dawn light happening here, it’s also the stillness, the sense of peace, the feeling everything’s holding its collective breath in order to truly take in this natural phenomenon.
So, here you have it. My contribution and definition of my own prompt, Copper, Silver, and Gold.
How about YOU?
Considering joining it? It’s never too late, I say and I’m sure my buddy Dale would agree!
Here’s all you’d need to do:
Create your post as you normally would. Title it something similar to what you see here or what you’ll see when visiting Dale’s challenge post today.
Once complete, you can create a ‘pingback’, a quick way of letting others easily find your work, by copying your freshly made post”s URL and pasting it into the comment section of this post or the challenge post over at Dale’s site.
Lastly, be sure to use our #CosPhoChal tag, along with whatever other tags you prefer to use and you’re done!
Here’s to a great remainder of Monday and a week filled with Copper, Silver, and Gold!
