I won’t lie, my last post was a hard one to write. It has to do with the basic things we hope those we know and have gotten to know, whether face to face or through this magical, cosmic portal we call, WordPress, get to experience in their lives.
For me, knowing others are being challenged in ways that interrupt the simple desire to maintain family, to maintain their relationship to one another, well, let’s just say if I could make those types of changes for those I know and those I don’t- I’d do it- most of you would too, I imagine.
This week, my buddy Dale chose a very powerful prompt, one which is presenting him with challenges many of us have never and will never pass through. He’s keeping it strong and positive on the day-by-day, but I know it’s not easy.
The prompt Dale offered us for the week was:
Now, I don’t mind sharing with you that many of the people I wish were here in California with me, in fact are not; they live very far away, either on distant coasts or countries.
I miss them all and there’s a long list, believe you me. With this in my mind, I wondered if I had in my photographic archives, any shots which spoke to this excellent prompt in a way I thought spoke to both my situation and the situation of others?
I did some deep digging and here’s the one shot I like best for this prompt:
As I chose this photo turned ‘painted graphic’, my memory kicked in of when I took this shot. I didn’t know the couple, but as I made my way around the Sutro Baths sector of San Francisco’s Ocean Beach, it was hard NOT to notice them.
That they loved each other seemed to my eyes obvious. All the movement came from the guy, while his girl simply stood still, looking into his eyes.
Blame it on the writer/storyteller in me for ‘creating their story’ in my head as I took the photo, but to me, TOGETHER FOREVER ... yeah, it works for them and this prompt!
So. There you have it, my version of this week’s challenge.
How about you?
If you’re considering joining us for this challenge, here’s all you’d need to do:
Create your post as you normally would. Title it TOGETHER FOREVER or something which gives off the same potent vibe(?).
Once you’re happy with the final product, go ahead and copy the post’s URL and paste it into either the comment section of Dale’s challenge post (linked above!!!) or this post you’re currently reading.
Lastly, be sure to use our #CosPhoChal tag, along with any other tags you care to use, and you’re done!
Thanks to all who took this challenge AND took a minute to read Dale’s heartfelt post. We may not be able to change legislation and policies that have existed for some time, but we can lend support and encouragement to those being negatively affected by them.
Here’s to a positive week ahead where the miracles we all know exist…make their way to the forefront of our lives…where they are sometimes very sorely needed.
