Okay, so in the years I’ve lived in Northern California, I’ve been aware that the winter we experience here is unlike winter in loads of other places.
It gets really cold, wet, snowy and downright miserable as a consequence of it being winter in many spots around the globe.
So when my buddy Dale offered up the latest prompt in our ongoing, K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge:
A HINT OF SPRING
I knew I wouldn’t be able to dig through my archives and come up with a local shot or three of snow melting, giving way to that ‘hint’ of warmth and sun to come.
Okay. What I could do, and did do, is dig down into my photographic archives and select a few of the shots I think best speak to the prompt Dale chose.
Here’s what I went with:
You know what? This was a very good challenge for me to consider today. As I mentioned, our winters are generally not so bad- they’re mild in comparison to lots of others.
Of late, we’ve been getting LOTS of rain, (relative) cold, cloudy days mixed with tantalizing glimpses of sun.
I guess what I’m saying is I’m very much ready for Spring. With it being March already, I’d settle for a few more of those glimpses we just can’t seem to string together…
I know, I know. There are BIGGER issues happening all around, not just on the local, but the global (whether they are WEATHER or other…).
In closing, I can say with a bit of certainty, Spring- the real deal, with its lasting sun and warmth, will manifest and I’ll get out in it enough to make me smile, relax, and be grateful I didn’t have to wait through more brutal examples of winter to get to it.
Here’s hoping many if not all of you are finding, photographing, or just imagining examples of your own HInts of Spring wherever you are.
Enjoy what remains of your Monday and hopefully the remainder of the week is even better!
