K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge: 2019: The Best Of / The Worst Of?

Greetings All.

This is it- 2019’s final post here at my humble spot on the WP.

With it being Monday, this can only mean it’s also a post from my buddy Dale’s and my ongoing, K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

This past Friday, I set the tone of this week’s challenge with the following:

2019: The Best Of / The Worst Of?

Now, it’s worth repeating here that for our challenges, Dale and I try not to place restrictions on how you choose to interpret, define, or experiment with our prompts.

We want you to feel free to let them speak to you, with you answering however you want.

With that in mind, I decided on the following to represent my ‘best of’ for the year 2019:

The story behind this ‘wolf pack collage is as follows:

The day was a visit to the fantastic Oakland Zoo. Getting there early is always a good idea as you will beat the crowds and can, in the first hour or so, leisurely walk around deciding on which exhibits to see and photograph.

Early in the day it’s rare to see any of the animals very active, and true to form, almost none of them were when I got there.

I’d spent just about the whole day without seeing much and had made the decision to leave. I made this decision while standing above the extremely quiet wolves’ den. Little did I know, it was feeding time.

Ten or so minutes later, after the animal caretakers had left the wolves food and drove away, these magnificent creatures showed up.

When last I’d been there, some months ago, there were only three or four. Now the pack had increased to around eight or so.

These four shots are my favorites from about an hour’s worth of picture-taking. It truly was an amazing sight I count myself very fortunate to have witnessed.

So there you have it, my ‘best of’ for 2019.

Here’s hoping Dale and I will get to check out some more of your ‘best of’ in the coming days.
